Favorite genre: historical fiction, but I like to read anything that is well written.  I have been active for many years in the American Association of University Women.  I find their website www.aauw.org has wonderful reading lists in a section called Adelante!  I have gone back through the recommendations for 10 years and put its books on my wish list.

I have lived several times on both the East (PA and VA) and West (Southern CA) coasts and once in the South.  I grew up in the desert southwest (NM) and need to be able to see mountains around me.  I am a former Spanish teacher, English as a Second Language teacher, independent verification and validations person on large military software systems, Technical writer and editor, trainer.  I was not happy in the military industrial complex and went back to school.  I graduated from law school at age 48.  I am admitted in NM, CA, VA and DC and to the US Supreme Court bar.  I worked for a few years litigating in securities fraud (plaintiff) and construction defect (defense).  I have worked for the last 10 years in marine insurance.  I am now back in CA for the 4th time, San Diego for the 2nd time.  And plan to stay put.
